_Household name Plc seeks to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel to take a key role within the legal team. _Part or Full time Considered.
- The position can be tailored to the lawyer's experience, reallocating work within the legal team and our client is interested in commercial, construction, technology or corporate lawyers. This is a hybrid role with ideally 50% office presence. It_ is a great opportunity to work as part of a large friendly and supportive legal team with the structure and career development you would expect of a leading business. There is significant opportunity for progression in a business which is undergoing substantial investment.
Responsibilities
A broad general commercial position advising the business and drafting/negotiating contracts which can be very complex. However, you could focus in on a key area such as construction, commercial or technology legal advice.
Work could involve any of the following:
- Negotiating, drafting and advising on a range of contracts including construction, supply of goods and services, JVs, R&D, IP and technology
- Support to projects including major capital delivery initiatives
- Advice on data sharing and processing including GDPR
- Corporate matters arising from assets and statutory functions
- Overseeing commercial disputes and litigation
- Support to cutting edge projects including renewables
- Supporting colleagues where needed with other commercial matters
- Mentoring more junior staff
- Conducting internal training
- Support on legal initiatives, strategy, promoting commercial awareness and implementing policies and procedures
We are looking for:
- A UK qualified solicitor or barrister with minimum of 4 years PQE but ideally more
- Well regarded law firm or inhouse experience, preferably within a similar sector (infrastructure/construction/energy/utilities/engineering)
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- You could have experience in commercial, construction, technology or corporate law
- Strong interpersonal, commercial and team skills
- Experience in supporting and mentoring more junior lawyers
- Confident and able to work with senior management
Package on offer:
- Up to £75,000
- Bonus to 20%
