Development Engineer
Cordius are working with a market leader in the Aerospace and Military industries based in Whitstable, Kent.

They are a leading global interconnect Fortune 500 specialist company, who are continuing to grow and significantly invest in the future.

They are currently looking for a Development Engineer to help support their team.


Hours / Shift Pattern -
Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm and Friday 8am to 1.30pm


Purpose of the role -
Responsible for designing and developing interconnection solutions to meet customer needs.


Duties and responsibilities -

  • Supporting product development activities from concept through to customer acceptance
  • Supporting and contributing to new business opportunities
  • Support new business proposals and sales quotations
  • Supporting Operations to ensure the smooth implementation to series production of developed product
  • Contributing to the Technology Plan for the development and identification of new product opportunities
  • Supporting Quality in investigations, correct actions, and process improvements

Experience / Technical Knowledge -

  • Experience of Assembly processes
  • Experience/understanding of Six Sigma / Lean manufacturing techniques and their implementation
  • Ability to create/interpret engineering drawings
  • Has worked in a production environment
  • Good working knowledge of materials (Metals, Glass, composites)
  • Six Sigma green belt or above (desirable)
  • Connector industrial experience (desirable)
  • Experienced using 3D CAD package (desirable)
  • Experience of designing jig, fixtures, and tooling (desirable)

Educational Requirements/Experience -

  • HNC or equivalent in relevant Mechanical Engineering Discipline or similar
