Head of Operations
Salary £55,000 to £65,000

Shorterm Group are actively assisting one of our engineering clients based in Bristol with a vacancy for a Head of Operations position.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Collaboration with senior management in the development of long term strategic goals, operational plans and performance
Setting and agreeing of company and departmental measures to monitor the level of progress/improvement and drive changes as required e.g. OTIF, Right First Time, Zero Defects etc and providing leadership and support in their delivery
Identifying opportunities to increase capacity through process analysis, data collection and interdepartmental collaboration
Ownership of the production plan, liaising crossfunctionally to ensure production targets are met
Providing transparent and clear communication to the business against the delivery of the operational strategy
Driving sustainable improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & People (SQDCP)
Leading the implementation of lean manufacturing methodologies and enabling a culture positive to change and modernisation
Delivering effective resource management processes and strong utilisation in line with business plans; ensuring that resources and workload forecasting is accurate
Management of material suppliers and subcontract process providers
Responsibility for coaching and mentoring the production management team, creating a clear succession plan through the business
Sharing knowledge with others and demonstrating lessons learned and positively challenge the status quo
Mitigating operational risk by developing a robust supply chain with the support of the wider team

Essential Requirements:

Strong organisational skills
Good knowledge of Production/manufacturing machinery and technologies
Good knowledge of Production/manufacturing processes
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Ability to solve complex manufacturing problems
Previous operational management experience
Excellent communication skills
Commercially astute, supporting the business in the achievement of its growth and financial targets
Previous manufacturing production experience

Desirable Requirements:
