Engage Education are working with a nurturing, relationship-focused special school that caters for young people with social, emotional and mental health issues who can often show challenging behaviours. They are seeking a resilient, communicative and empathetic individual to join a close-knit team of dedicated Pastoral Care Workers and enable them to do what they do best - change the lives of their pupils.

Your Role:

  • Supporting pupils during their crisis moments, removing them from the situation using a range of behaviour management techniques and deescalation strategies so they can get back to the learning.
  • Support your team by delegating tasks, liaising with parents and SLT and helping them to progress
  • Providing feedback to teachers and parents
  • You will be assisting pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Severe Learning Difficulties and other Learning Disabilities

  • To have worked with learners with a range of needs
  • The ability to reengage a young person in learning through a range of methods
  • To be able to commit to working at the school for long period of time
