Part-time Social Coordinator: 2-10 Hours Per Month - Hereford, United Kingdom - Family G

Description

Responsibilities:

• Help an adult with a learning disability to make connections with local individuals so that her social web extends beyond the world of disability and paid support.
• Listen to what the client is saying and not saying, and work closely with her family and personal assistants.
• Make introductions and facilitate connections as appropriate, providing coaching wherever needed to nurture awareness, confidence and skills. Some introductions will not progress; others will develop into valued acquaintances, friends or even informal advocates. As individuals move on, others may arrive or be introduced to the client.
• Gradually build an advocacy network which will be especially important when the client's parents are no longer here.
• Chair network meetings.
• Keep accurate records.

Qualifications:

• Excellent listening skills and ability to read body language.
• A good local network in Hereford and a passion for cocreating a world where everyone is valued and encouraged to share their talents.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Teamwork skills and a growth mindset able to give and receive feedback with kindness and honesty.
• Ability to help the client to flourish.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

You must have your own transport.

This is slow, organic work which requires patience. You will need to be comfortable working at the client's pace without visible results.
