Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a highly regarded Planning, Landscape & Environmental Consultancy on the hire of a Planning Director to help drive the team forward and deliver excellent work across numerous sectors, but with a particularfocus on the minerals, waste, renewables and infrastructure sectors.

The main role of the Director will be to work with other Directors and others in the Practice to drive the continued growth of the business.

This will involve supporting and expanding our client and geographical base for EIA, Project Management and PlanningServices in the renewable energy, infrastructure, minerals and waste sectors; identifying and exploiting opportunities for the expansion of these services in other sectors; mentoring and leading staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality project workto clients.


Duties/Responsibilities;

  • To develop and expand the client and geographical base for EIA, Project Management and Planning Services with a focus on renewable energy, infrastructure, minerals and waste sectors;
  • Identify and exploit opportunities for the expansion of EIA, Project Management and Planning Services in other sectors;
  • To work with Directors in ensuring the Practice is managed in a financially sound manner;
  • To work with Directors to establish and deliver practice priorities measured by Key Performance Indicators;
  • To provide a Professional EIA and Project Management Service to the Practice;
  • To mentor and manage multidisciplinary teams working on Planning / EIA projects;
  • To develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients and ensure delivery of highquality project work;
  • To manage projects efficiently in accordance with the company's project management procedures (ISO 9001);
  • To technically review project work prepared by others in the team as required;
  • To market the services of the Practice and prepare fee proposals as required; and
  • Other duties as appropriate to the role.
To be considered for this role you should hold/be able to demonstrate.

  • A relevant qualification and MRTPI status (or close to submitting)
  • Experience at the relevant level (public or private sector)
  • Experience of renewables and / or minerals projects
  • Commercial mindset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team player
  • Selfmotivated and able complete work in a timely manner.
