Our client a highly successful logistics company based in Tamworth, requires Transport Coordinators. Possible permanent position following successful trial period.Our client offers:
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, covering between 07:00-15:30 & 07:30-16:00 (8 hours per day, on a rota basis).
£10.60ph rising to £11.05ph ph after 12 weeksDuties include:
- Coordinating all International multi mode transport operations and ensuring relevant legislation is adhered to.
- Supporting the development of processes to manage freight movements and demonstrating control over carriers utilised ensuring service quality
- Creating & tendering collection requirements to predefined carrier base utilising companies web based system (SCi)
- Coordinating shipments from NOR (notice of readiness) through to delivery using the customer and clients systems.
- Working closely with all stakeholders to ensure that company provides the Customer with a best in class supply chain solution through the use of mutually agreed carriers
- Tactically plan international collections based on order criteria
- Effectively track and manage International collections from NOR through to end delivery point inputting information into customer and DHL systems
- Providing a key contact for all stakeholders customer, supplier, carrier & clients operations & FB&A transport service runs effectively and to plan
- Ensuring that all aspects of the business operate within defined corporate and legislative requirements
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with the customer and carriers to ensure all targets are met
- Supporting the delivery of EAC and EBIT growth for a new account.
- Supporting achievement of contractual cost down targets
- Ensuring effective communication mechanisms exist with all stakeholders
- Increasing companies revenues by utilising clients services where appropriate
- Assisting in creation of strategic plans
- Ensuring all planning is executed within parameters of customer services levels
- Achieving of operational performance as defined by customer contract and KPIs
- Creating a culture of continuous improvement in routing and scheduling activities to ensure cost down targets are met
- Building good relationships with customer to provide excellent service levels proactively supporting their requirements.
Requirements for the job:
- Tactical planning & operational experience in LLP operations in Supply Chain division and multi modal transport operations (Road, Air & Sea)
- Knowledge of companies systems specifically OTM & customer system SAP.
- A good degree of computer literacy, with a comprehensive working knowledge of MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Excellent communication skills (at all levels) good listener and effective in communicating ideas to support the development of good Customer relationships
- Ability to demonstrate logical thinking
- Strong and effective organising, planning and process work methods
