Description

We have a wonderful opportunity to join our friendly and encouraging Renal team as our Renal Reception Supervisor and Typist to be responsible for the supervision of renal unit reception staff and the provision of an effective administrative and secretarial service to medical staff and the nursing team.


You will manage essential clinical information and communication by liaison with the multi-disciplinary team, internal departments and external agencies to ensure continuity in achieving excellence in patient services.


Your role is to provide a secretarial service to Clinician/s including audio typing/transcription or processing of clinical letters, meeting minutes (multidisciplinary team meetings/ governance meetings), reports and other relevant clinical records, ensuring that high quality standards are met.


You will act as the first point of contact for users of the Trust, dealing with telephone calls and enquiries promptly and efficiently, providing immediate response and referring as necessary.

These will include personal enquiries from patients and their relatives, as well as calls from GP's, clinicians, students, nursing and administrative staff, at all times understanding the sensitive nature of calls.


You will be expected to accurately and appropriately update and maintain electric patient records as required in line with Local and Trust Policies, maintain effective communication (verbal/written) with Medical staff, Nursing staff, General Practitioners and Patients and give guidance and support to new and temporary reception staff when required, acting as a Trainer / Coach / Mentor as appropriate.
