Head Of Commercial FinanceWhat you see me doing
- Leadership of all aspects of the commercial finance function:
- Ownership of budgeting and forecasting cycle, including 3 year plan and the models that support this
- Ownership of trade and performance reporting and analysis group wide, including lead and lag indicators
- Presentation of budgets, forecasts and performance reports to the business and Board.
- Drive better efficiency and effectiveness across all reporting and planning activity including development of tools and better use of key data sources (Customer data, data warehouse, product data)
- Full ownership of the IR strategy.
- Lead on all investor reporting including Annual Report, Interim results and supporting results presentations
- Liaison with investment analysts managing market guidance, review of analyst models and external trading updates
- Develop reporting to cover the typical 'public market' valuation metrics (e.g EPS, PE< PEG, EV, EBITDA) and incorporate into internal longrange plans,
- Establish and manage finance business partnering to support and challenge channels and departments.
- Ensure the team work closely with Commercial teams to ensure latest sales forecasts and promotional activity is reflected within forecasts and stock positions appropriate for planned sales
- Lead on preparation of robust business cases to assess new initiatives, for both trading and infrastructure.
- Support key decisions such as stock buying plans, FX hedging and commercial negotiations
- Ensure the development of new reports to provide insight into trading and profitability.
- Act as an advisor to the Operations Board on commercial decision making, financial projects and performance understanding.
- Keep the CFO updated and advise on all risks, improvements and progress within Commercial Finance
- Professional accountant qualification.
- Experience working within retail or similar business
- PLC experience highly beneficial.
- Strong planning and forecasting capability, including cash forecasting
- Excellent communication and influencing styles
- Great people and team leadership
- International Group financial management and reporting experience would be highly advantageous.
Location:
Hybrid working. Expectation of 2-3 days in the office, particularly over critical periods
