Role Purpose


Our housing officers provide a comprehensive, high quality and customer focused housing management service which offers tenants value for money and efficiency in the management of their tenancy.


Core Responsibilities

  • To provide a patch based customer focussed, proactive, comprehensive and high quality housing management service to Christian Action tenants, ensuring an efficient and effective service is provided at all times.
  • Ensure the tenants and leaseholders comply with the terms of tenancy / lease in respect of housing and tenancy management and take appropriate action to remedy any breaches.
  • Be responsible for managing a portfolio of tenancies, working within agreed policies and procedures and utilising all appropriate and available tools to manage tenancies effectively.
  • Lead on delivering a programme of neighbourhood, estate and patch/property inspections to ensure they are well maintained and managed, present a safe and secure environment for customers and visitors.
  • To work in partnership with other teams / officers to support and deliver a customer focused involvement and engagement service ensuring customers are able to actively engage, be involved and shape services that the Association delivers as a landlord.
  • Identify and report any safeguarding issues in line with our Safeguarding policies
  • Investigating all types of Anti-Social Behaviour cases to satisfactory conclusion.
  • Deliver services that meet legislation and regulatory requirements and reflect best practice and deliver excellent customer service at all times
  • Ensure that KPIs are achieved, with the aim of achieving top quartile benchmarked performance.

Who we are looking for

Essential

  • At least 2 years' experience working in a similar role and an understanding of social housing regulation.
  • Experience in;
  • Rent arrears cntrol including filing particulars of claim and representation at court
  • Investigating and cncluding all aspects of antisocial behaviour
  • Vids monitoring and control, including inspection of void and specifying properties and new acquisitions and developments
  • Letting and allcation of property including different types of tenancy agreements and leasehold management
  • Wrking with and attending partnership meetings with statutory and voluntary agencies.
  • Tenant cnsultation and participation
  • Estate and health and safety inspectins management
  • Wrking knowledge of welfare benefits and welfare reforms
  • Wrking knowledge in the preparation of service charges including consultation meetings and feedback with tenants Excellent Excel skills to intermediate level
  • All aspects of tenancy management
  • Providing excellent customer care and working closely with tenants to improve the customer experience
  • Thorough understanding of housing law and the various forms of tenure
  • High standard of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Educated to A Level standard, GCSE in Maths and English at least grade C

Desirable

  • Experience of using customer databases, housing management systems
  • Graduate level
  • Professional qualification in Housing
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing
