Credit Underwriter - Liverpool

Responsibilities:

-
Risk Assessment: Evaluate and quantify credit risks, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.

Financial Statement Review: Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and other relevant financial documents to determine the borrower's financial health.

Collaboration: Work closely with loan officers, account managers, and other departments to gather necessary information and ensure a smooth underwriting process.

Documentation: Prepare comprehensive credit reports and present findings to management, highlighting key risk factors and recommendations.

Policy Adherence: Ensure adherence to underwriting policies and guidelines, staying abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes.

Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with internal teams, providing guidance on credit decisions and offering solutions when necessary.


Qualifications and professional experience required:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field _

  • Proven experience as a Credit Underwriter or in a similar role within the financial services industry

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of financial statements, credit scoring models, and risk assessment techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in using underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

£24,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus private medical insurance, pension, and a host of other exciting benefits.

£22,000.00-£24,500.00 per year
