Service Engineer

Permanent position

Monday-Thursday 08:00-17:15

Friday 08:00 - 12:30

Crawley & Field Based

Overtime 1.5x base salary, company vehicle, Fuel Card
Are you a Service Engineer? Do you have previous experience working in a field-based role carrying out testing, fault finding and repair work on a range of electro-mechanical equipment? If so, this role could be perfect for you

Our client is a growing manufacturing business and is looking for a skilled Service Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis.

Main responsibilities as a Service Engineer:

  • Installation of electro-mechanical industrial equipment primarily on to printing presses
  • both as new and retrofit equipment
  • Carrying out light mechanical & electrical/electronic assembly
  • Repair and refurbishment of components as required
  • Commissioning a range of company products, recording the required measurements.
  • Testing of equipment to satisfy the customer's requirements and provide operator training to staff members
  • Customer/OEM/Distributor/staff training as required from time to time, both in house and on site in the UK and worldwide.
  • Service and repair of existing systems.
  • Travel in the UK and overseas worldwide working mostly alone but with support from the inhouse

Main Skills/Qualifications as a Service Engineer:

  • Electrical Engineering City & Guilds level 1&2&3 or HNC/HND and/or 17th/18th edition, or electrical degree.
  • Knowledge of components, assembly (electrical/electronic and mechanical), repairs and refurbishments, product testing, analysis and fault finding skills
  • Extensive recent experience of 3 phase industrial environments.
  • Recent experience working in a field service role (could involve: commissioning, service breakdowns, installations, warranty visits etc.)
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be free to travel worldwide with no restrictions
  • Must have a current
    manualfull driving licence with no more than 3 points on.
