Desktop Team Lead - Bradley Stoke, United Kingdom - Datasource
Description
Introduction:
Our client is looking for an experienced Desktop Support Engineer with at least 1 years' experience of team leadership to join a busy team of 4, supporting over 1000 users on site, along with an additional 200 users on 8 satellite sites.
This role will include 75% hands on desktop support, with 25% team leadership: prioritising work, arranging rotas, approving timesheets, technical escalation where appropriate.
Key responsibilities:
- Leadership and work allocation of a team of 3 Desktop Support Engineers.
- Manage the daily activities of the team and assume responsibility for the recruitment, training, objectives setting, and personal development reviews of team members.
- Manage and prioritise all 2nd line incidents and requests according to defined SLAs.
- General troubleshooting of the desktop computing environment based on service requests.
- Manage 'inperson' IT service requests as they arise.
- Deploy IT hardware, record and track assets during deployment.
- Ensure colleagues take ownership of issues as soon as possible and escalating where appropriate.
- Troubleshooting a range of technology and telephony issues: investigating, diagnosing faults, and working through to resolution.
Skills & experience:
- An IT/Desktop support background, with at least 1 year in a team leadership position.
- High level of proficiency and knowledge of working in a Corporate IT environment (Microsoft).
- Solid understanding of hardware and software asset management processes.
- Experience in working to (and exceeding) Service Level Agreements.
- Strong business focus and customer service skills.
- A valid Driving license is essential.
- They will have exceptional communication skills and be service oriented.
