The role


Following the retirement of the current post holder you will report to the Director of Social Services and lead our Adult Social Services teams to deliver services to our communities.

You will work collaboratively with our partners at a local, regional and national level.

You will be supported by a committed and talented staff team and work collaboratively with the top tier of our senior management team in delivering Adult Social Services to our residents.


You will be a values based leader and have a key role in advising elected members and the senior management team on service provision in relation to Adult Social Services.

You will ensure service delivery and statutory responsibilities are maintained and lead large and complex budgets, and ensure that services are financially sustainable.

Application Process

Assessment Centre
You will be contacted inviting you to the appointment process if you are shortlisted. You will be notified in writing if you are unsuccessful.

You will have an opportunity to ask questions about the job, conditions of service to panel members.


Timetable
Assessment - Formal assessment with the Member panel is scheduled for the week commencing Monday 15th April 2024. Any pre-assessment dates in advance of this will be notified to shortlisted applicants. Applicants should be available to attend any pre sessions.


Start date - Once the offer of appointment is accepted you will be sent all the necessary onboarding information in readiness to start your employment.

Arrangements will also be made between you and the Chief Executive to discuss your commencement of employment with the Council.
