Description

A great opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join a global supplier of advanced materials and support the aerospace, automotive and alternative energy sectors.

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for controlling the main power systems that supplysite manufacturing, buildings and offices as well as the distribution circuits to each area.

What you'll be doing:

Manage site High voltage and Low voltage network capacity and maintenance thereof
Making sure that every electrical device or circuit installed meets the National
Electric Codes and any company standards
Testing of electrical systems once they are installed to ensure all systems are stable and safe
Schedule and execute Electrical supply equipment maintenance strategies (predictive and

- preventive)

Evaluate and authorise maintenance and contractors for works onsite
Act as the site authorised person for the management of electrical equipment including

- hazardous areas

As part of the engineering team, support the safe operation of the site, including supporting

- project activity, advising the operational maintenance teams of maintenance needs for plant side
- power systems and issuing and controlling safe system of work permits for electrical works

Skills helpful for the role:

Recognised Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent, minimum BTEC HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
COMPEX Ex 14 (responsible persons). COMPEX Ex 14 (gas/vapours) and 56 (dust). Good working knowledge of BSEN 6007
Relevant electrical engineering experience in operations and maintenance of large industrial plants is required
Expert knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations (EAWR 1989) and Health and Safet at Work Act (HASAWA 1974)
Trained to the latest requirements for electrical installations BS767
Experience of industry standard risk assessment techniques such as HAZOP, FMEA
Understanding of industrial process safety
Rockwell PLC knowledge required (Logix 5000 & 500, plus RS view)
