Maintenance Fitter

Main Purpose of Job

Overview
-
Planned Preventive Maintenance on all machines, Company Equipment and Facilities
-
Responding to emergency machine breakdowns throughout the Factories
-
To be Involved with the Installation and Commissioning of new Machines and Equipment
-
Involvement in the moving, Dismantling and Scrapping of old machinery.
-
Overhaul and repair of machines and equipment.
-
Ensuring machines and equipment on site are in a safe condition, fit for purpose and working efficiently and effectively.
-
Carry out any minor building maintenance work that may be required.
-
Assist with routine maintenance and repair to the moulding tools and fixtures used within the company.
-
Design and manufacture custom frames for moulding tools ready for the moulding process.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • To assist in the Design, Promote and carry out preventative maintenance function primarily at the Bradford site but be available to assist at the Rochdale Site. Company Vehicle provided for travel between sites.
  • Completion of all necessary paperwork which supports the role.
  • Ensure all machines are working correctly, are safe and fit for purpose.
  • Installation and movement of new machines and equipment.
  • To maintain high levels of safety on all machines and equipment and improve where necessary.
  • Overhaul, upkeep and repair of all plant and machines, which will include working on:
  • Roto mould machines
  • Lifting hoists
  • Tooling and fixtures
  • Fabrication Machinery
  • Fabrication of tool carriers to suit specific plant and machinery for production use.
  • Repair and modification to any tooling that can be completed using on site skills and equipment.
  • Review and advise on engineering requirements and drawings for machinery and equipment.
  • Actively promote safe working practices on the use of machines and equipment.
  • Undertake all repairs and servicing to the highest standard in accordance with work requests and predetermined specifications.
  • Fault finding, testing and replacement or repair of existing fittings, fixtures, or parts.
  • Where detailed specifications are not available or provided, determine the cause of the fault, and then undertake the most costeffective and safe solution to remedy the defect.
  • Effective communication at all times keep Management and all relevant parties aware and seek advice and assistance when required.
  • Any other duties as may be required with the grading of the post and the skill of the post holder.

Essential

  • Demonstrate sound decisionmaking skills.
  • Must have formal qualifications in relevant mechanical engineering and/or Welding and Fabrication

  • Professional Mechanical/Fabrication Qualification

  • Experience of Rotational Moulding process and machinery
  • Experience of plastics manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge in Hydraulics and Pneumatics.

  • Full UK Driving License
  • Must be prepared to work at any of the companies within the Rotational Mouldings group.
  • Post holder must be able to work well under pressure and be able to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
  • The role will demand that the post holder is able to challenge constructively existing ideas and practices.
  • The post requires the use of discretion and initiative across all areas of work.

Job Types:

Salary:
£30,000.00-£35,000.
