Soleil Foodservice Ltd is an expanding re-distributor supplying restaurant chains throughout Europe and warehousing services for large on-line retailers. The company offices are based in Wrexham, North Wales.

We are currently looking to recruit for the following position:

Customs Compliance Assistant
The successful applicant would work independently across multiple departments, reporting directly to the Customs Manager. This is a new role and duties may change/expand accordingly.

Main Duties

Data Management and Analysis

Ensure correct tariffs are recorded for each product and are being used correctly for all imports/exports.

Follow up with suppliers on any discrepancies and checking of tariff recorded.

Communicate any changes on tariffs internally.
Monitor open orders and precalculate where duty/VAT payments are expected, keeping records up to date.
Submit import / export requests to relevant customs brokers.
Analyse any differences in duty/VAT invoices compared to precalculation. Escalate any difference with customs broker.
Audit all import and export customs entries checking that correct tariffs/all data is correctly declared.
Long Term Supplier Declarations
Keep records up to date of all declarations and circulate internally when renewed (annually) or for new products.
Classify new products with tariff using UK and EU Trade Tariff websites.
Ensure customs brokers are audited and are given correct tariff information for clearing goods.
Review and update internal customs processes as necessary, in line with any new practices and legislation.
Check customs

Other

Support on researching customs requirements for export to new markets.
Assist on customs audits.
Other duties as required.
Support management team as required.

Reporting Packages
Sage X3 / Excel

Hours
37.5 hours a week

9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday (half an hour lunch break)

8am to 4pm Friday (half an hour lunch break)

Hybrid working opportunity (Minimum of two days in the office required).

Salary
£24,000p.a
