Description
Expanding European listed technology and communications group seeks ambitious number two in the tax department.

This is a new role within the Group Finance Team so a great opportunity to stamp your mark.

This role will focus mainly on Corporate Tax compliance and R&D tax credits and will help to bring this work in house for the first time.

Depending on your interestsand experience there will be opportunities to work in other areas of tax and treasury to expand your experience.


Key responsibilities and tasks include:

  • Preparation of all UK companies tax computations and returns using Alphatax
  • Preparation of the groups R&D tax credit claim and report for submission to HMRC
  • Supporting the tax provision process for half year and year end reporting including liaising with external auditors
  • Assisting with the Group Transfer Pricing Policies and transfer pricing documentation across the Group
  • Leading the process for quarterly tax payments
  • Supporting tax governance frameworks including SAO, CCO, tax strategy and readiness for UK SOX internal controls for tax processes
  • Partnering with local finance teams across Europe, ensuring accurate tax accounting entries for group reporting and local entities
  • Providing support to UK and European finance teams on tax compliance matters.
  • Opportunities to work in other areas could include VAT returns, employee related tax queries and treasury related cash management and can be tailored to meet development needs
This role is ideally suited to a tax professional with:

  • CTA/ATT/ACCA/ACA qualification
  • Previous experience as a Tax Accountant within a European business or a first move into industry
  • Alphatax experience (or similar)
  • Great interpersonal skills, and an ability to work on your own.
