Are you looking for a rewarding role working for an intersectional feminist organisation? If so, we have an incredible opportunity for you to join our team as Perinatal IDVA at Solace Women's Aid.

We exist to end the harm done through gender-based violence.

Our aim is to work to prevent violence and abuse, as well as providing services to meet the individual needs of survivors, particularly women and children.

Our work is holistic and empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives, free from abuse.

Our core values reflect our history and were developed in consultation with staff and service users.

Feminism and intersectionality are key to our work, and we are committed to the principles of being survivor-led, trauma-informed, empowering, diverse, anti-racist and anti-discriminatory.

About the Service

The Barnet SASS team provides advocacy and support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse living in the London borough of Barnet.

An exciting opportunity to recruit a new Perinatal IDVA has arisen in this busy domestic abuse team.

About the Role

The Perinatal IDVA provides a proactive service to survivors of domestic abuse identified as being at high risk of imminent harm.

The IDVA will be based in Central Northwest London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) perinatal services supporting women at increased risk of domestic abuse during pregnancy.

As the Perinatal IDVA you will carry out risk and needs assessments, safety and support planning with survivors and advocate on their behalf with external agencies.

A key part of this role involves contributing to local processes; providing domestic abuse advice to staff trust wide and action planning alongside other agencies to improve survivor safety.

This role will be based four days within the Brent and Harrow perinatal sites and one day in the Barnet community services office.

Successful applicants will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse, its impact on service users and their children and of working with people experiencing mental health crisis.

You will have experience in crisis risk management and safety planning. Experience working within safeguarding procedures is essential as it needs to promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

In return, we offer great employee benefits including three per cent employer pension contribution, generous holiday entitlement and a focus on learning and development.
