Established in 2001 when we bought our very first care home in Bakewell, Hill Care now operates 38 care homes across the Midlands and North of the country.


We are seeking a self-motivated and highly organised individual to join our Head Office team as an Accounts Assistant, looking after the accounting function of 6 care homes.


You need to be willing to manage your own workload around set deadlines and be a quick learner who shows lots of initiative and problem-solving skills.

Our care homes rely on us for a wide variety of support, so willingness to go the extra mile is a must.

You'll be rewarded with a fast and varied role where you'll quickly become an integral member of the team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Daily bank account reconciliations
  • Weekly posting of Petty Cash transactions
  • Monthly Payroll processing
  • Preparation and production of monthly Profit & Loss, including monthend journals, accruals/prepayments and report production
  • Balance Sheet control account reconciliations
  • Year End processing, including maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and liaising with auditors
  • Working alongside the Sales and Purchase Ledger Clerks to ensure accuracy of accounts
  • Generally providing support to the care homes to ensure they continue to run smoothly.

Technical Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Confident PC user with transferable IT skills
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50 Payroll would be beneficial
An understanding of care sector finances would be a major advantage to any applicant.
