Principal Resourcing are actively working to recruit
Classroom Supervisors, also known as Cover Supervisors
, to meet the demands of
day-to-day and
long-term supply for our partnership academies based in
North Lincolnshire.
Cover supervisors are suitably-trained school staff who supervise pupils carrying out pre-prepared exercises when teaching staff are on short-term absence.
The cover supervisor's main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set.
The role:
- Supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policy
- Managing the behaviour of pupils while they are undertaking work
- Responding to any questions from pupil about process and procedures
- Dealing with immediate problems and emergencies according to school policy
- Collecting any completed work after lesson and returning to appropriate teacher
- Reporting as appropriate using schools agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupil during the class, and any issues arising.
Skills and experience required
- Good communication skills
- A high level of written and oral English
- Flexibility
- A passion for education
- Enjoy working with young people
- Confidence to positively manage a class of secondary school students
- Previous experience working in a UK school is desirable but not essential.
- A current DBS registered with the update service or a DBS completed through Principal Resourcing
Previous experience working with children or young adults is preferable, but not essential as full training will be given.
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 GCSE's, including Maths and English at Grade C and above, equivalent literacy and numeracy qualifications or IELTS at a minimum grade or 6.5.
You can expect to be paid
up to £100 per day for this role, depending on experience and the role requirements.
