Description

Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive, unique institution, rooted in the Liverpool City Region and with a global presence.

Our students and staff, past, present, and future, are the beating heart of our city and can be found in every corner of every industry and community.

We couldn't exist anywhere else and have shaped the city in which we belong.

Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the heart of why we were founded and why we exist today.

The University is looking to recruit an IT Support Officer to join a small team providing second-tier IT support to University staff on a network of approximately 6000 desktop and laptop PCs.

In addition to delivering occasional training sessions and administering the University's IT Service Management system, you will work closely with colleagues on the IT Helpdesk (first line support), Technology Support Team (hardware and audio-visual support), the Infrastructure team and the IT Procurement team to deliver and centrally support and manage the desktop and laptop PC estate and supporting services, and resolve a wide range of end-user IT issues.

You must have very strong communication skills, together with experience of supporting end Users in a Microsoft Windows-based enterprise environment, using a variety of system management tools (including SCCM/Endpoint Manager and ideally Software Centre).

In addition to strong technical and analytical skills, you will have a positive 'can do' attitude and be able to deal with users' often complex IT issues in a calm, professional and reassuring manner.

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction and development support as well as family-friendly policies.

This is an exciting time to join LJMU as we approach our bicentenary in 2023 and launch our new strategic plan.

If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.

LJMU values diversity and provides a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can fulfil their potential.
