We have an excellent administration opportunity on Padua Ward which is within Child Heath based at William Harvey Hospital.


It is a great opportunity to enhance your personal and administration skills as well as developing new administration skills and a knowledge of the ward and hospital base.

To assist with the everyday administration of the ward.

Assisting the ward staff and Ward Manager with the administration tasks for the admitting patients, patients already on the ward and patients being discharged.


  • Answering the phone and dealing with the queries that arise
  • Keeping the patient whiteboard updated with the correct information
  • Filing and collecting of patient notes
  • Keeping the paper forms photocopied and up to date
  • Maintain the telephone number book
  • Maintaining the 2 patient computer systems and ensuring the information on them is current and correct
  • Assisting with the discharging of patient when required
  • Booking patient transport when required
  • Booking visitors for the patient's
  • Maintain the next of kin details
  • Reporting faulty equipment
  • Requesting porters on the database when needed
  • Making the necessary clinic appointments after a patient has been discharged
  • Any other duties the Ward Manager and Ward Manager's Assistant requires
