Events Officer (Maternity cover)
£30,000 (£18,000 pro rata)

Part-time: 21 hours per week (across three full days)
Flexibility will be required as occasional evening and weekend work will be necessary.

Loughton Milton Keynes. Office-based.


Ride High is looking to recruit an Events Officer to manage its annual calendar of fundraising and special events.
Ride High is a registered charity working with Milton Keynes' most vulnerable and disadvantaged children.

Using horses and an associated educational programme the charity supports 120 children every week for a period of 12-36 weeks, helping to transform their lives.


Reporting to the CEO the Events Officer will plan, manage and deliver Ride High fundraising and other special events to raise funds and awareness of the charity, including but not limited to our annual fundraising ball.

The role will also support and encourage others to organise their own events and to take part in third-party events.

This is one of two part-time roles being recruited to jointly cover maternity leave.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To project manage Ride High fundraising and special events from point of briefing to production and postevent analysis
  • To build relationships with suppliers i.e., venues, designers, events company, photographer etc to support delivery of events
  • To generate ideas for new events
  • To manage the budget for events
  • To recruit volunteers to support events and to manage their engagement and input
  • To source sponsorship and prizes for events
  • To manage event bookings and payments
  • To liaise with companies to promote event participation
  • To manage Ride High's involvement with events organised by a third party
  • To occasionally attend thirdparty events to represent Ride High
  • To support individuals to fundraise on behalf of the charity
  • To manage our presence on fundraising platforms such as Go Fund Me
  • To build and maintain relationships with event attendees/participants
  • To maintain our fundraising database with new stakeholders
  • To brief and work closely with Marketing and Comms Executive regarding design requirements for events, production of materials and promotional activity etc
  • Carry out additional activities to support fundraising as and when required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Relevant and recognised qualification in marketing and/or events
  • Experience of managing events
  • Experience of working in the charity sector would also be of benefit
  • Experience of managing and working with a range of suppliers to deliver a high
- quality event experience

  • Strong project management skills with a creative mindset and excellent attention to detail
  • Budget management experience
  • Experience of presenting to large groups
  • Proficiency with relevant technology, including Microsoft Office 365, fundraising and database programmes and event software including EventBrite
  • Confident, highly motivated, organised and efficient
  • Flexible, positive and adaptable, willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks
  • Ability to build rapport and develop effective relationships with all stakeholders.
A standard DBS check will be required for this role.
