Engineering Manager - Edge Platform (DNS)

About the job
**About the role: **You will lead our newly created Edge Platform Engineering Team who are developing of our next generation DNS Resolver Infrastructure. This is an exciting greenfield project that will have impact at the core of the internet in the UK and beyond. You and your team will design and build high scale critical national infrastructure and government secure services.


In the role you will have extensive experience working with DNS at scale and will become an authority for DNS and the Edge Platform.

Solid background in a field relating to DNS is a must, so that you're able to challenge and grow your team members.

You'll get hands on when necessary.


The essential bits:

You will have extensive experience working with DNS/DNSSEC protocols and with experience of at least one type of DNS Software (e.g. BIND, NSD, Unbound, PowerDNS) and Linux systems. Ideally good knowledge around core networking technologies, VMware, Kubernetes, Docker and AWS would be a plus.


Technical leadership experience and a solid background in DNS, we'd like to see 2+ years Engineering Management experience on top of a strong technical background.


You will have proven experience delivering complex DNS projects from design to production, as well as experience working with Scrum or similar agile methodologies.

You will be experienced in fostering a culture of coaching and be able to demonstrate effective team management aligned to our values of ownership, integrity and boldness.

You're someone who works collaboratively with other Engineering Managers to drive improvements across engineering.


You will have a passion for leading and growing engineering teams while also being responsible for the timely planning and delivery of the projects the team are working on and will get hands-on when necessary.
