Our well-established Shrewsbury based client is looking to recruit an experienced Facilities/Health and Safety Manger at their head office in Shropshire.

The Facilities/Health and Safety Manger will be responsible for company assets that ensure the servicesoffered are delivered successfully, as well as Health and Safety policies and relevant legislation.


Key Responsibilities:


  • To advise the Directors of matters relating to Health & Safety Law, Regulation and Policy and ensure the company is compliant.
  • To ensure, that adequate Health & Safety documentation is collated for each asset and that details are adequately held appropriately.
  • Ensure relevant and comprehensive risk assessments are held for central functions relating to Health & Safety.
  • Scheduling and coordinating with the relevant department managers when periodical audits are due.
  • Responsible for all recording systems and any associated records and providing the information as and when required or as and when requested.
  • Guarantee that all monitoring systems and databases are up to date and relevant and occasionally report any data to Directors.
  • Organise and oversee the outofhours oncall schedules which are provided by external contractors.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:


  • Directly responsible for the Maintenance department (operatives for all sites) and monitoring the performance.
  • Ensure the team has the required training and equipment to safely and effectively carry out the tasks required, identify where external contractors are required and confirm the authorization of the work.
  • Monitor and frequently review risk assessments and safe working practices of this department including but not limited to safety checks, risk assessments, vehicles, and COSHH.

Facilities Responsibilities:


  • Assist the Finance Director with lease renewals and refurbishment budgets.
  • Advise those responsible for our properties of any Health & Safety matters that will need attending.
  • Appointing competent and appropriately qualified contractors where required and ensuring that valid certification is received following the completion of work.
  • Update the refurb Capex sheet working with the senior management team to plan out a schedule of works for external contractors.

Essential:
Full UK Driving Licence.

Working hours are 37.5 hours per week. The role requires a flexible attitude with normal working hours of Monday to Friday, between the hours of approximately.
