The applicant will be expected to contribute to the respiratory virtual ward as part of a team of consultants within the department.


We have the flexibility to provide a bespoke job plan that encompasses your academic, teaching or research interests, as well asan annualised job plan, part time working and are able to offer a relocation and incentive package.


We are expanding our Respiratory Consultant team at our Derby site and we want you to help us shape and deliver it.

You will join a team of dedicated Consultants working closely together providing respiratory care to patients in Staffordshire, Derbyshire and surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Respiratory Medicine Department at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton.

The department is one of the larger and fastest growing clinical respiratory departments in the country and as such you will be joining a dynamic and close-knit team of 24 Respiratory Consultants.

The department prides itself on being innovative and progressive and at the cutting edge of respiratory service delivery across numerous sub-specialities.


  • Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of a Respiratory Service.
  • To share with colleagues responsibility for the daytoday management and provision of a high quality, consultantled Respiratory Medicine service.
  • Teaching & training of junior medical staff, and medical students.
  • To actively participate in both departmental & Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance & To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME).
