Description
Ensure the effective and efficient use of resources. Maintain the ward environment, management of stores and support excellent patient experience. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the ward/clinic area. Ensure stores are put away and good stock control is maintained.

Support community midwives in the preparation of equipment homebirth boxes, booking packs etc. Support collection of patient experience feedback. Clinical Governance Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and clinical guidelines for self and others. Maintain health, safety, security and report any concerns regarding patient care.

Report any incidents, complaints or accidents to the Nurse in charge. Maintain confidentiality. Support peoples equality, diversity and rights. Attend and participate in team, ward and unit meetings.

Participate in patient and public involvement activities. Participate in general cleanliness and tidiness of ward environment. Education and Development Develop own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others. Attend mandatory in-service training programmes including moving and handling, fire etc.

Maintain up to date skills and knowledge. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Ensure the privacy and dignity of each patient. Provide relevant written and verbal information as directed and participate in any research projects approved by the organisation. Maintain a professional working relationship will all members of the multi-disciplinary team.

The postholder will maintain the confidentiality of Trust and patient information unless authorised for specific purposes. Report any concerns about the use of such information to the Midwife in charge. Report to Centre Manager/Nurse in charge all untoward occurrences, comments and complaints from patients and visitors. Recognise and report defects in buildings and equipment to Midwife in Charge in charge or other relevant personnel.

ORGANISATIONAL Maintain up-to-date knowledge by reading communication book/notice board to maintain awareness of and adhere to Trust/Local/National policies. Through annual appraisal, team discussions, identify personal development training needs in relation to service requirements. Personal responsibility to identify and attend mandatory training. Attend departmental meetings, brining any issues regarding the running of clinics for discussion and resolution.

Maintain safety and security throughout the department at all times. Attend the department and provide care as delegated in the event of a major incident being declared.
