Risk Division is central to Lloyds Banking Group and data is a key enabler in satisfying the needs of our internal and external customers.

The Risk Data Excellence & Transformation (RDET) purpose is to enable through trusted Data. We're evolving our data & technology offering, our culture, and our attitude to build a truly data-led organisation.

The function's data mission is at the heart of both Risk and Group strategy.

The transformation element of the team continue to support the enterprise ambitions to pivot to cloud technologies and new ways of working.


This role will be working closely with the Enterprise Risk Platform teams helping to drive strategic change for the benefit of our Colleagues, Customers, and the Group.


Job Description:


The Data Management role will lead the Risk Data Office with a focus on the ensuring the right controls are in place across the data landscape.

Leading in identifying and resolving our data issues to enable trust in the data we use and produce.

Leading data risk reduction and effective control improvement plans, helping find solutions for data issues, records management, and privacy issues.

The team will also have operational ownership and maintenance of Metadata data relating to Risk owned data.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the Risk Data Office working with other Data Offices across the Group with key partnerships developed with Risk division and Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO).
  • Own the implementation of a 'data owner' operating model for Data Management across Risk and the Enterprise Risk Platform for both the 'as is' and 'to be' states.
  • Ensure that Risk effectively develops and implements appropriate data quality strategies supporting the strategic ambition of the group.
  • Work closely with the CDAO to define and communicate the standards & guidelines required to help promote a culture of data quality across Risk.
  • Lead the embedding of principles into Risk processes conforming to best practices set out by the data.
  • Build insight that monitors the validity and accuracy of data underpinning data board metrics.
  • Work with Risk teams and platform to uplift the data quality related issues at source to minimise downstream impact.
  • Embedding Data Ethics, Data Privacy and Records Management practices across Risk
  • Implementation of the groups automated Data Management and Privacy Management tooling.
  • Supervise and assess the data risk across the division. Crafting proactive insight to ensure controls are effective

About you:

  • Knowledgeable about how Risk works within a multiproduct supervised organisation of which they'll have had operational experience.
  • An experienced leader in the Data environment, able to understand key concepts of data including how it is curated, processed and run.
  • Intellectually curios in their outlook; seeking to innovate and learn quickly from failures.
  • An effective communicator who can influence Executive and Board level collaborators across multi channels.
  • A dynamic and adaptable leader who is able to identify business needs, shape initiatives, and deliver groundbreaking solutions from both a process and technology perspective.
  • An authority in delivering through others, comfortable working in a matrix structure and able to use your networks to enable delivery. Able to balance assertiveness with cooperation to enable truly collaborative working partnerships to achieve shared outcomes.
