The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings.

None of this would be possible without the exceptional team of people who work here.

People are centre stage of everything we do at ROH, and our Human Resources department work across the organisation, ensuring that in every department we have to right people in place who are supported to deliver their work to their fullest capacity.

Our Apprenticeships and Work Experience Team are central to the pipeline of future talent at ROH, opening up careers in the arts to a diverse audience.

With both technical/craft opportunities alongside traditional 'back office' occupations, the team work extensively with community partners to advocate for apprenticeships and vocational career pathways.

We are now seeking a proactive, organised and enthusiastic Apprenticeships and Work Experience Officer to join the team, and ensure our EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) objectives are at the heart of both schemes.

This role closely supports the Apprenticeships and Work Experience Manager in the administration and delivery of both programmes, taking a lead on Work Experience process and the delivery of placements across the organisation.

This role requires someone who is committed to widening access and inclusion in the arts and has the right approach to work with those at the start of their careers, providing them with effective guidance and pastoral care.

  • Some experience of supporting young people in the early stages of their careers
  • The ability to work effectively with a wide range of people (both internal stakeholders and external partners)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships and rapport at all levels.
  • Strong numeracy skills with demonstrable experience building trackers in Excel and ensuring payments are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and to work unsupervised, with honed time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines working in a part time capacity.
  • A commitment to proactively promoting diversity and inclusion
  • An understanding of the backstage work of a theatre and/or interest in and enthusiasm for the Arts are not essential but will be highly regarded._

Interviews will be held 29th November - 1st December 2023
Applicants must have work authorisation for the UK. No agencies please.
