We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Technician (Electrician) to join our team onsite at Kirkstall Brewery Halls of Residence, Leeds.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The salary is £34,983 per annum.


We are looking for people who can commit to starting in January 2023 for an 18-month contract so there's a total of £1,500 loyalty bonus available, with payments made throughout your contract at Kirkstall Brewery.


As the skilled technician you will work as a member of a team providing both a planned and responsive maintenance service, specialising in electrical repairs.


This will include:


  • Undertake maintenance within the residences in a safe working environment, assessing all Health and Safety issues before work commences and report any hazards identified to the relevant Manager
  • Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement and provide front line response for all plumbing and mechanical work
  • Carry out PPM in accordance with the schedule
  • Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including records for statutory compliance and liaise with specialist subcontractors
  • Carry out statutory testing including emergency lighting, fire alarm testing, fire door testing and more
  • Carry out statutory testing including PAT testing, fire alarm testing, fire door testing and others, as required
  • Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residences ensuring all information is passed to the relevant persons
  • Being oncall when required likely to be 1 week in 4 (TBC)

We are looking for you to have worked in a similar role and environment with a fully qualified electrical engineer status, City & Guilds th Edition, able to demonstrate experience and qualifications in electrical installation or an electrotechnical background.


You will have a good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems as well as good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner.


You will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when the needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends, and assist at different sites when required.


Alongside this you will also possess great communication and organisation skills, along with the passion to do a great job.
