Buyer: Job Spec.
As Buyer you will need to be dedicated to sourcing the best production parts, consumables and services OTIF. This company is dedicated to providing the highest level product to our customers and as Buyer your role will hold particular emphasis on engineering procurement and consumables for the site and operation.
The role:
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will:
Monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance
Identify, implement and report procurement cost savings
Cut waste and unnecessary costs to create a streamlined process
Provide support to internal customers
Build strong working relationships both internally and externally with key suppliers
Resolve disputes and claims with suppliers
New product introduction/engineering change administration
Ensure optimisation of stock holdings (to include stock turnover, obsolete/slow moving items and overall stock holding value)

Requirements:

Manufacturing/Engineering background.
In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Able to conduct firm, fair and ethical negotiations with suppliers.
Proven track record of delivering cost savings.
A fully committed team member who can communicate and implement procurement policy and process throughout the organisation.
