Description
We are looking for an experienced Mechanic to join the team.


This is an ideal opportunity to join our team of mechanics and technicians at our modern, well equipped maintenance facility.


The role involves diagnostics, repair and maintenance on the company's fleet of upward of mainly 50 Volvo trucks, but also including Scania & MAN, and 160 trailers and small plant machinery, including tractor units, cranes, service vans, tug masters which are serviced and maintained at our workshop.


Services provided in the Maintenance Facility include:

  • Pre-MOT inspections
  • Tachograph calibrations
  • Computer diagnostics
  • Winter checks
  • Cab/chassis/engine steam clean
  • Commercial steam cleaning
  • Breakdown assistance
  • ABS and EBS systems
  • Repair/ supply hydraulic pipes
  • Training facilities

Duties will include:

  • Inspecting & maintaining Ferguson Transport's fleet of vehicles and trailers
  • Use of Volvo/Scania special tools as required training will be provided
  • Completing necessary paperwork and records
  • Carrying out repairs according to Company procedures in a safe and responsible manner
  • Travelling to sites to deal with breakdowns
  • Maintaining workshop along with colleagues to standards that meet our image of an efficient and modern transport and service provider
