Description
The Communications and Marketing Advisor's role works closely with the Head of Communications to deliver the organisation's stakeholder engagement and communications strategy and related activities (e.g., campaign development, media relations, stakeholder engagement, event management).
The role involves working closely with the commercial team to help increase and diversify new business and will be central to helping build and strengthen the influence of the Port of Aberdeen among local, regional and national stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of the stakeholder engagement and communications strategy, which is developed in line with the port's strategic objectives.
- Planning and delivery of marketing campaigns.
- Develop compelling content for PoA's social media channels and website.
- Planning, implementing, and delivering PR / media relations activities.
- Developing internal communications and employee engagement activities.
- Support the maintenance of the organisation's website.
- Manage the delivery of exhibitions and events, and the preparation of presentations, briefing material and award submissions.
- Liaise with relevant suppliers and agencies creative design agencies, web agencies, video producers, exhibition contractors, ER consultants and media. Also, client and partner communications teams and other relevant interfaces.
- Create and maintain purchase orders and requisitions etc.
- Develop positive and proactive relationships with representatives of the media.
- Draft media releases and articles for publication through digital channels.
- Coordinate and host media visits, collate and analyse media coverage.
- Utilise a range of mediums, including, animation, film, graphics, and imagery.
- Brainstorm new and creative marketing plans.
- Produce digital marketing collateral, upload, and manage website and social media content, identify trends and insights.
- Support public affairs activity, from local councillors to the UK and Scottish Governments.
Preferred qualifications / experience / knowledge include:
- Executing successful marking campaigns.
- Website / intranet management.
- Events management.
- Public relations / media relations background.
- Internal communications / employee engagement
- Public affairs.
Salary:
£38,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Aberdeen, AB11 5SS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
