Job Title:
Nursery Nurse Level 2/3
Hours: 20 Hours Term Time
Purpose of Job:
- Working under the direction of the Nursery Manager/Deputy Manager to plan, prepare deliver and develop the play and learning of children following the EYFS.
Specific Duties:
- Key person to develop the play and learning of children following EYFS.
- To complete online learning journals each week.
- To complete parent reports at the end of term.
- Care and supervision of all the children with regard to meeting their individual needs, interests and schemas.
Supporting the Child:
- Offering all children equal opportunities and to promote inclusion with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background; in particular challenging situations where racism or discrimination is displayed.
- Under the guidance of the Nursery Manager/Deputy Manager, undertake work/care/support programmes to enable access to planned learning opportunities.
- To plan and prepare learning opportunities indoor and outdoor to develop all aspects of the child's individual development in a stimulating atmosphere following the EYFS framework;
- To carry out assessments, observations and next steps of the children's learning opportunities for planning;
- Clarifying and explaining instructions;
- Ensuring that the child is able to use the equipment and materials provided;
- Motivating and encouraging the child as required;
- Organise the learning environment for the morning and afternoon sessions, develop resources as required and ensure that the room is tidy at the end of each session;
- To assist in creating and arranging displays;
- Provide detailed and daily feedback to the Nursery Manager on children's achievement, progress, problems, etc.;
- Contribute to the management of behaviour, including anticipating and taking action to prevent potential problems arising.
Supporting the Nursery
- To support and uphold the Catholic ethos within the Nursery.
- Be aware of, and comply with, policies and procedures, e.g. safeguarding, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the Manager.
- Accompany staff and children on visits, trips and outofnursery activities as required.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with other staff, parents and carers.
- To participate in parent/carers meetings and nursery training days as required.
- Attend relevant staff meetings and other meetings as required.
- To participate in Performance Management procedures.
