Data Protection Lead

We are looking for an information management professional with expertise in managing personal data to join the team as Data Protection Lead, in this hybrid-working role.

Data Protection Lead

Location:
Hybrid/Reading

Hours:
Full-time, part-time or job share

Salary:
Starting from £43,631 pro rata

Contract:
Full-time, permanent

Benefits:28 days' annual holiday (rising to 33) plus bank holidays, Gym contribution membership (on completion of probation), Attractive pension scheme

About the Role

Key duties include:

Complete relevant documentation that demonstrates compliance with data protection law.
Collaborate with colleagues in a wide variety of roles to develop information management policies and practice.
Monitor how information flows within the organisation, and check that colleagues are following relevant policies and guidance.
Model excellent practice in information management.

About You
As Data Protection Lead, you will have outstanding communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a pragmatic approach, along with:

A thorough working knowledge of Data Protection legislation as it applies in the UK, including requirements of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and supplementary regulations and good practice guidance
An understanding of what privacy by design means in practice and experience in documenting privacy considerations
A solid understanding of good records management practice
