We are looking for a talented Controls Technician to join our team specialising in Manufacturing for our Engine Business Segment in Darlington.
Comprehensive knowledge applied to performing skilled activities which support manufacturing business needs. Works with relevant functions to select and utilise appropriate resources, tools, machinery and speciality equipment. Thoroughly understands the protocolsof working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. Acts as a formal resource leading and coordinating others. Quickly and effectively adapts to change in the manufacturing environment.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Applies high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship.
- Support equipment failure analysis.
- Performs work in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using
- Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system.
- Ensures all process documents and quality procedures are updated and acts as a resource to provide help to others.
- Will need to support Maintenance in production breakdown Scenarios.
- Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialised training and relevant experience.
- Providing support for the interface between MES and our PLC network.
- Configuring OPC servers to add new MES stations to the system.
- Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
- Making good and timely decisions that keep the organisation moving forward.
- Recognises controls related hazards in a manufacturing environment (Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic) to incorporate safe practices and procedures as part of the daily work plan.
- Must have knowledge of Siemens PLC's and be able to modify PLC programs and fault find using PLC software.
- Must have served a recognised apprenticeship and preferable an electrical background.
