We are recruiting for a law firm based in Blackburn, specialising in Family Law matters.

Thee are currently seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join our dedicated team and provide crucial administrative support to our Family Solicitor.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to the efficient functioning of our Family Law department.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support:Assist the Family Solicitor in preparing, editing, and proofreading legal documents, including correspondence, agreements, court forms, and client letters.
Manage and maintain the Family Solicitor's calendar, scheduling appointments, court appearances, and client meetings.

  • Client Interaction:Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner, both in person and over the phone.
Arrange client meetings and maintain excellent client relations by providing updates on case progress and addressing their queries promptly.

  • Case File Management:Organise and maintain physical and electronic case files, ensuring all relevant documents are accurately recorded and easily accessible.
Assist in conducting legal research and gather information for case preparation.

  • Court and

Tribunal Support:
Coordinate court and tribunal appearances, ensuring all necessary documentation and evidence are prepared and submitted on time.

Liaise with court staff, barristers, and other legal professionals to ensure smooth case proceedings.

  • Billing and Finance:Assist with billing and invoicing procedures, ensuring accurate records of time spent on cases and disbursements are maintained.
Process payments and handle financial transactions related to Family Law matters.

  • Compliance and

Data Protection:
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, maintaining confidentiality and privacy of sensitive client information.

Adhere to all relevant legal and ethical standards while handling confidential and sensitive information.


Requirements:


  • Minimum of one year of experience in a legal secretary or legal support role, preferably in Family Law.
  • Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing legal documents and maintaining records.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients and legal professionals.
  • Knowledge of Family Law procedures, terminology, and documentation is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Job Types:

Salary:
£19,500.00-£21,500.00 per year
