Description
To carry out a range of administrative and secretarial duties to support the community paediatric team using electronic patient management systems to register, process, check, update, and discharge patients.
Provide the administration for safeguarding medical service, on a daily basis, provided by the Community Paediatric Service including taking enquiries, communicating complex information to doctors, booking appointments and ensuring chaperone cover.
Doctors the clinical team in managing the referral process for community paediatrics. Type appointment letters, clinical letters, Child Protection reports using copy typing and audio typing.Maintain and update accurate patient records in accordance with standard operating procedures including scanning, filing, audio and copy typing. Respond to all queries, correspondence, and issues within department in relation to specialist services. Support the management of the 18 week wait list, escalating any issues to line manager. Prioritise and manage own workload.
Support the Clinical Admin Lead in introducing changes to administrative systems in line with service modernisation and integration. Support any audits required by the services relating to this department. Produce information and data relating to the services relating to this department, as required. Assist on reception or Single Point of Access (SPA) phone lines, if required.
Participate in administration meetings and share good practice amongst peers within the organisation.
