Apprentice Paint Technician (Vehicle) Level 3

Job Summary:


Responsibilities:

-
Assist in Vehicle Preparation: Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, and priming surfaces as directed by senior technicians.
-
Mix Paint Colors: Learn to mix paint colors according to specifications provided by customers or manufacturers.

Maintain Equipment: Clean and maintain painting equipment and tools to ensure proper functioning and longevity.

Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks of accidents or injuries in the workplace.

Learn from Senior Technicians: Work closely with experienced paint technicians to learn best practices and techniques in vehicle painting.

Quality Control: Assist in inspecting finished work to ensure it meets quality standards and customer expectations.

Keep Work Area Organised: Maintain a clean and organized work environment to facilitate efficient workflow and safe working conditions.

Professional Development: Take initiative in learning new skills and techniques related to automotive painting through training sessions and on-the-job experience.


Requirements:

Education: Vocational training or coursework in automotive painting is a plus. Maths and English is required at a Grade 4/C or Functional Skills Level -
Hands-on Experience: Prior experience in automotive painting or related fields is beneficial but not required.

Day release:Must be able to travel to Tameside College for an interview for the position AND throughout the apprenticeship attending one day per week for training.

Attention to Detail: Ability to pay close attention to detail and produce high-quality workmanship.

Physical Stamina: Capable of standing for extended periods, bending, lifting heavy objects, and working in various positions.

Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals.

Safety Conscious: Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in a workshop environment.

Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Passion for Cars: Genuine interest in automobiles and enthusiasm for learning about automotive painting techniques and technologies.
