Description

Company description
At The Slow Cyclist we specialise in carefully crafted small group cycling holidays to Europe and Africa.

We believe travel is worth taking time over; that a great holiday means getting under the skin of a place and getting to know the people, history, customs and food that make it special.

And we love doing what we do. Exploring incredible parts of the world and sharing them with our guests makes us happy. But we don't want to be just another travel company. We want to make a genuine difference to people's lives.

Job description

We are looking for a solid 'all rounder' who takes pride in doing a great job of day to day finance / accounting tasks.

Within this context, we are open minded about the type of applicant.

As well as career Finance Assistants, the role may also be suited to someone who is winding down or adapting from a career as a Finance Manager or someone who is gaining experience with the aim of becoming a Finance Manager over time, a position which will no doubt become a requirement at The Slow Cyclist as we grow.

The role could even be suitable to someone who is in the final stages of or just completed relevant professional qualifications.

Whilst we do not expect travel industry experience, it would be ideal if you have it.

  • Processing expenses claims
  • Helping to track key financial metrics in the business
  • Preparing regular reports
  • Payroll
  • Liaising with our external accountant and bookkeeper

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of Google or Microsoft Office packages
  • Highly competent on spreadsheets

Basis
Part time, 2-3 days per week, to be agreed. Over time this could develop into a full time role.

Working arrangements can be a flexible mix of home and office. The office is currently at Shenington (near Banbury) but we are looking to relocate our office closer to Oxford.
