Market Risk Analytics Data Lead
London
As a Barclays Market Risk Analytics Data Lead, you will be part of the global team responsible for developing systems used by the firm to calculate and report VaR (Value at Risk), and provide aggregated risk reporting, stress testing and Regulatory Capital numbers.
Your work will focus on understanding the existing data architecture & lay out the target state, using different technology solutions to deliver on complex technology development projects.
You will partner with project managers across the team to deliver reliable software solutions.

Working Flexibly
What will you be doing?:
- Working with business analysts and technology counterparts to translate and accurately understand business requirements
- Ensuring that the development approach is rigorous and repeatable in line with the high standards expected of a regulatory system
- Managing estimation, scheduling, milestone tracking verification, risk management and project status reporting
- Acting as a third line of support by answering more complex client/support queries
- Uniting and leading geographically and technically disparate teams from both business and technology heritages
- Streamlining and retiring legacy processes and systems
- Mentoring developers to develop quality solutions
What we're looking for:
- Significant software engineering primarily on Microsoft stack
- Experience with risk & good understanding of market risk domain
- Ability to manage and support a global team of software developers
- Selfdriven with emphasis on design principles & code hygiene
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Experience of working with large data systems (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc) is a benefit
- Ability to perform architectural/technical and code reviews
- Financial Services/Investment Banking Experience
- Substantial background in Financial Services, along with experience in team leadership, driving delivery and implementation of complex solutions
