H & S Advisor needed in North Northamptonshire £25ph ref 11303

Full time hours on a temporary basis.


Operating within a business partnering model, Health and Safety Adviser is seen as a senior role and to run alongside our compliance team.

Will advise the interim strategic lead for housing property services and the management team.

Will work closely with Housing repairs and maintenance front line team leaders, repairs officers, in providing professional advice and challenge on the full range of Health and Safety matters.

By understanding the services delivered, the H&S Adviser will support managers to identify and manage risk factors.

The Advisor will also support the implementation of health and safety policies and safety management systems so that our workers and customers (including employees, volunteers, contractors, agency staff, residents, and visitors), are adequately protected from harm as a result of operational activities.


He or she is to have total involvement in all daily activities carried out by all trades and the departmental heads.

To have weekly catchups with all team leads and departmental heads. To have monthly health and safety briefings with all staff and contractors. To have access to all information regarding training.

Should be made aware of any near-misses, incidents & accidents in the first instance.

To carry-out site inspections on all trades and report on non
- compliances.

Should be made aware of any high -risk activities to be carried out by trades.

All trades RAMs to be submitted to H& S Advisor in the first instance.

Should be the first contact of all health and safety matters relating to property services team.

Be included on decisions which involves health and safety.

Must have the information to know what staff and contractors are doing on a daily basis.

Should be introduced to all new starters at induction stage.


Liaise closely with NNC Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW)Team and for them to clarify H&S Advisors role to union representatives.
