Administration and Procurement Assistant
We are Building Contractors based in Mitcham, a small and fast-growing team with substantial experience and established relationships in the industry.
We are looking for a team member to join us and take over from our current Assistant who is sadly moving out of London.
This is a long term position and we are offering a permanent contract with periodic salary review.Start date - late March
The role will involve:
- general admin support (answering phones, office organisation, managing post, files management, arranging couriers, samples etc)
- providing support to accountant (sending Invoices and statements)
- preparing site documents, H&S posters and required licencing for the projects
- assist in the procurement process by sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers/vendors
- monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, invoices, and delivery receipts
- conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and negotiate favourable terms.
- managing incoming and outgoing deliveries (ensure goods received match invoices etc)
- check delivery notes and obtain proof of delivery from suppliers regarding materials
- deliver excellent customer service
- replenishing and tidy up kitchen and office suplies (professional cleaning is outsourced)
- any other adhoc tasks as directed by the managers
To be considered you will be:
- an independent professional with at least 2 years in a similar role ideally in a construction/engineering/architectural company with excellent communication skills and an ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment
- working knowledge of Excel is essential
- you must be fluent in English - one other Eastern European language is favourable but not essential (Lithuanian, Russian)
Key details:
- £27-£30k depending on experience
- Office based, M-F 9
- Free onsite parking
