We have an exciting new opportunity for a Grant Management & Compliance Officer to join our London team to support with philanthropic income generation and funder relations.


You will manage a large portfolio of donor funding agreements across Climate Groups various entities and will work closely with our global offices.

The position is a vital liaison between Climate Groups Fundraising, Finance, Legal and Programme delivery teams, ensuring we successfully deploy funding in compliance with Climate Groups global strategy as well as funder agreements and charitable regulations.

About the role
The role centres on financial and legal compliance elements across all funder agreements from bid stage to close out.

You will coordinate internal teams to engage with compliance requirements across the grant cycle spanning due diligence, income tracking, drafting and subgrant agreements, monitoring donor agreement delivery, and completing funder reporting requirements.


Whilst the role is based in London, you will work closely with our global teams in Beijing, New Delhi, Netherlands, and North America to uphold the highest grant management standards.


Key responsibilities will include**:


Grant management (33%)**- Design and run project kick-off meetings to communicate funding terms to internal stakeholders.

  • Track donor income and communicate progress to appropriate internal stakeholders.
  • Track the development of funding and partnership agreements.
  • Maintain Climate Groups funding databases (Salesforce, Concord, donor portfolio and funding reporting tracker).
  • Engage with funders to resolve questions about funding agreements.
  • Support due diligence checks on funders and project partners.
  • Manage and develop tools to effectively communicate donor funding terms to project teams.
  • Promote adherence to internal processes and identify process enhancements.

Reporting (33%)

  • Coordinate Climate Groups funder reporting process in compliance with funder requirements, including maintaining the funder reporting schedule, communicating with internal and carrying out quarterly audits.
  • Engage with the funder on reporting management and coordination.
  • Coordinate additional input as required and move reports through Climate Groups internal sign off process.

Legal (33%)**- Review funding agreements and coordinate points for negotiation and amendment internally, highlighting queries as needed to Grants and Compliance Manager.

  • Work with the Grants and Compliance Manager to draft and negotiate project partner agreements.
  • Communicate key terms of the donor funding agreements to ensure compliance across Climate Group, and work closely with the Grants and Compliance Manager to support on more complex funding agreement issues as these arise.

Essential

  • Experience managing grant agreements or other types of contracts.
  • Basic level contract experience, with an understanding of the key terms in donor funding agreements and project partner agreements.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms including Salesforce or similar.
  • Commitment to the mission of Climate Group and upholding a strong relationship with our philanthropic community.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective collaborative partnerships and strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, across a range of cultural contexts.
  • Strong problemsolving skills with a solutionsoriented approach.
  • Strong organisational skills and experience of managing multiple priorities, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • A desire and ability to develop skills and experience in line with the needs of the role.
