Pets at Home Group Plc is the UK's leading pet care business; our commitment is to make sure pets and their owners get the very best advice, products and care.

Pet products are available online or from our 453 stores, many of which also have vet practices and grooming salons.

The Vet Group operates a UK leading small animal veterinary business, with 440 First Opinion practices located both in our stores and in standalone locations.

The Pets at Home Vet Group has been built on the principle of clinical freedom for our Joint Venture Partners (JVPs) and we are committed to supporting practices to build a culture of clinical excellence.

The JVPs are the clinical leaders of our Joint Venture practices and are responsible for delivering an exceptional standard of care to our clients and patients.

About the role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Veterinary Nursing Lead to join our team.

This is a new position that will lead on the implementation of clinical progression and responsibility for Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) within the business.

As a Veterinary Nursing Lead, you will champion the voice of RVNs both internally and externally.

You will be accountable, with the rest of the team, for the overall clinical services performance provided to our practices and their clients.

You will work directly with JVPs, JVC and RVNs to grow and enhance the RVN capability and capacity. This may also involve potential line management of a team in the future.

This is a hybrid role, based out of our Support Office in Handforth (Cheshire) and travel to practices will also be required.

About you

  • RVN, ideally with postgraduate nursing qualifications, or from within training and education
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the business
  • Past experience in leadership roles
  • An understanding of the veterinary professional landscape, with a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape governing the provision of veterinary services with an emphasis on RVN roles
  • Experience in developing training programmes and continued professional development
  • A confident leader and team player who can operate in a matrix structure
  • Great planning, prioritisation and organisation skills including the ability to manage multiple workloads and projects in an effective manner
  • The ability to deliver a strategic agenda and the agility to deal with the tactical operational activity this role can also bring
  • A proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders particularly in the professional arena
  • A high level of emotional intelligence and great judgement and decisionmaking skills
  • An ambassador for change and able to support others during periods of change
  • A high level of attention to detail
Our diversity and inclusion vision is that everyone is welcome and feels part of our group.

If you think you're a good match to what we are looking for, and you share our belief that together 'we're better with pets', we'd like to hear from you, whatever your background or circumstances.
