Job Title:
Community Outreach Coordinator
Location:
London Borough of Southwark and London Borough of Lambeth
Salary:
£30,000 per annum
Holiday: 25 days
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:
Engage with local communities:
Establish and maintain relationships with local community leaders, community organisations, renters advocacy groups, faith groups, foreign language groups, and key touchpoints such as doctor's surgeries, schools, shops, community centres, and pharmacies to promote the Marks Out Of Tenancy platform.
Collaboration:
Develop relationships with local authority partners.
Conduct in-person interviews: Meet with tenants who have left reviews on our platform to gather further insights and stories related to their rental experiences.
Door knocking:
Proactively approach residents in the targeted boroughs to encourage them to share their experiences and leave reviews on our website.
Support vulnerable individuals:
Identify and signpost vulnerable community members to appropriate support services, demonstrating a strong understanding of safeguarding issues.
Coordinate with content and social media teams: Collaborate with our in-house teams to develop and execute campaigns based on your face-to-face activities and community insights.
Reporting:
Provide regular updates on your activities, successes, and challenges to management, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.
Stay informed:
Maintain a thorough understanding of the local areas, their diversity, and the challenges faced by residents in the South London boroughs.
Required Skills and Experience:
Community organising background:
Experience in community engagement, outreach, or organising is highly desirable.
Local knowledge:
Must be embedded in the local communities and have a strong understanding of the London Borough of Southwark and London Borough of Lambeth.
Language skills:
Proficiency in languages other than English is a significant advantage.
Excellent communication:
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
IT proficiency:
Familiarity with Google Workplace, social media platforms, and other modern IT systems.
Adaptability:
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing situations and priorities.
Compassionate and empathetic:
Must be friendly, open, and able to show understanding and compassion towards community members and their experiences.
