Fire Glass UK Ltd is one of the UK's leading manufacturers, suppliers, and glaziers of fire and acoustic glass, and is looking to appoint a full-time Estimator at their Edinburgh Branch, based in Scotland.


PURPOSE OF JOB


You will join a busy team to assist the Sales & Estimating Manager/Branch Manager in day to day tasks; Supply only.

You will have competent I.T.

and data entry skills and office experience as well as a high level of attention to detail, effective organisational and communication skills (both orally and written), and experience of providing excellent customer service.


MAIN ACTIVITIES

  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications and bill of quantities.
  • Identifies labour, material and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications and related documents.
  • Computes costs by analysing labour, material, and time management.
  • Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analysing information and liaising with client/architect as necessary.
  • Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Logging and tracking of quotations and carrying out follow up courtesy calls.
  • Liaise with sales team to follow quote to its conclusion.
  • Liaise with Glazing Manager to run through specification of job prior to production commencing.
  • Maintaining adequate records, keeping an up to date filing system.
  • Operate a variety of standard office machines, including PC, a variety of computer software including Microsoft Office, phone, fax and photocopying machine.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential at all times.
  • Contributes to team efforts by helping and assisting work colleagues to achieve goals.
  • Sending standard letters and reports.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors and customers.
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate to the role as and when required.

Salary:
£19,760.00-£25,000.00 per year

  • 8 hour shift
  • Overtime
  • Weekend availability
