Head of Mayors Officer - London Borough of Newham (Hybrid)

- 6+ Month Ongoing Contract

Rate - Negotiable - Please send your CV with the rate of pay you require

Essentials:


  • Proven indepth awareness of the implications of working in a political environment
  • A solid understanding of the role and functions of local government
  • Experience of managing and dealing with highly sensitive casework
  • Experience of handling confidential information sensitively
  • Experience of dealing with residents in a frontfacing manner and of negotiating satisfactory resolutions to difficult problems

Job Role:


  • This role will lead and manage all core support functions for the Mayor and be part of an exciting programme to redefine the direction of the Mayor's Office.
  • The successful post holder will join a fast paced office and have an active leadership role in developing the team and ensuring the provision of high quality support services to the Mayor
  • Ensuring all strategic and administration support processes are operating effectively and efficiently and introducing improvements were required.
  • Working closely with the Mayor's Senior Strategic Advisor to lead by example in the creation of a dynamic, collaborative and delivery focused team culture.
  • To build strong operational relationships with key teams across the local authority to support the effective delivery the Mayor's Office functions.
