JOB PURPOSE

An exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist looking to make an impact on the lives of people with complex disabilities and those recovering from acquired brain injury including TBI and stroke and/or other neuro conditions.


You will be supported by our existing SLT Team and you will also work very closely with our friendly, dynamic multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the wider success of these services.


  • In this role, your duties will include;
  • To provide a speech and language therapy service to adults with acquired communication, cognitive and/or swallowing problems.
  • To offer neurorehabilitation in a residential setting to adult clients, providing intervention on an individual or group basis as required.
  • To provide specialist speech, language and swallowing assessments and neurorehabilitation to clients on the stroke pathway adhering to local and governmental policies.
  • To provide specialist speech, language and swallowing assessments and neurorehabilitation to people as outpatients as required.
  • To have a responsibility for developing SLT programmes and services for clients within NRS, under the guidance of the Senior Speech and Language Therapists.
  • To provide advice to clients, their families and relevant staff on the management of dysphagia.
  • To contribute to the monitoring and achievement of relevant standards.

We moved into our new 48 bed Centre in July 2020 and now have the opportunity to support more people experiencing disability.   • We have a friendly and experienced rehabilitation team including support workers, nurses, occupational therapists, physios and psychologists.
  • The SLT team will support you in completing your dysphagia competencies, you will also have the opportunity to attend VF clinics when ours clients are referred
  • All staff participate in the key therapist/worker program for clients.
  • Your personal development will be supported with supervision, reflective practice, inhouse training and CPD opportunities.
  • ABOUT YOU
  • You are an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist with an interest in providing speech and language therapy services for clients with complex neuro disability.
  • You are passionate about your area of work

  • You are a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy and work within the scope of your professional guidelines
